For beverages bottled in Champagne bottles, Champagne wires are an absolute necessity to prevent leakage and/or cork ejection during carbonation. Following insertion of plastic champagne corks in the bottle, place the wire over the cork and twist the wire 6-7 times to provide adequate restraint.
