Brewers Best Deluxe Beer Brewing Equipment Kit

The Deluxe Brewer's Best Equipment Kit with Glass Carboy contains the equipment required to brew 5 –gallons of beer except a boiling pot, bottles and caps. Enclosed instructions provide directions for using the equipment while an informative book offers tips for achieving a successful batch.

Kit includes:

  • 6.5 Gallon Fermenting Bucket

During fermentation, the 6.5 – gallon bucket without a hole contains the beer. Following the boil, pour the cooled wort into the fermenter. To guard against off flavors in the finished beer, clean and sanitize the fermenting bucket and lid prior to use.

  •  Bucket Lid with Grommet

During fermentation, the stem of the Econo-Lock is inserted into the black grommet attached to the fermentation lid, forming an airtight seal. The bucket lid should be tightly fastened to the entire rim of the bucket.

  • Econo-Lock

Easily cleaned and sanitized, the clear plastic 3-piece airlock allows carbon dioxide (CO2) to escape from the primary and secondary fermenters while preventing air from entering. To maintain sanitary conditions, fill the airlock halfway with sanitizer solution during primary and secondary fermentation.

  • 5 Gallon Glass Carboy

For secondary fermentation, siphon the beer to the glass carboy from the fermenting bucket using the Siphon Starter and the provided tubing. Once the fermented beer is within .002 gravity reading of the target final gravity, transfer the beer to the secondary for clearing. Prior to transferring the beer, clean and sanitize the jug, siphon starter and tubing to prevent off flavors and bacterial infection in the finished beer.

  • Carboy Bung

For securely seating the Econo-Lock into the opening of the carboy, a tapered "bung" with a hole is included in the kit.

  • 6.5 Gallon Bottling Bucket

For bottling the finished beer, the included 6.5 – gallon bottling bucket requires minor assembly. Simply insert the bottling spigot in the 1-inch diameter hole at the base of the bucket and thread on the retaining nut. Prior to filling the bottling bucket with fermented beer, clean and sanitize the interior to prevent bacterial infection and potential off flavors in the bottled beer.

  • Siphon Hose with Shut-Off Clamp

The 5 – foot length of clear plastic tubing has a 5/16-inch inner diameter and easily attaches to the provided Siphon Starter for racking and bottling operations. To slow or stop the flow of beer during siphoning, a white plastic shut off clamp is included in the equipment kit.

  • Lab Thermometer

For measuring temperatures at various stages of the brewing process, the Lab Thermometer provides accurate readings during grain steeping, pre-boil and wort chilling operations.

  • Combination Bottle Filler

For bottling fermented beer from the bottling bucket, the Bottle Filler allows home brewers to fill bottles without adding oxygen into finished beer. Reducing oxygen introduction into the beer following fermentation prevents stale flavors from developing in the bottle. Constructed of a clear and rigid plastic tube and a spring-loaded valve, the filler fits the included siphon tubing. To begin filling bottles, attach a 1-foot length of tubing between the filler and the spigot of the bottling bucket, open the spigot and let the beer flow into a sanitized bottle.

  • Fermtech Auto-Siphon

For transferring fermented beer, the Auto-Siphon utilizes gravity and pressure to siphon the beer into the secondary fermenter or bottling bucket.

  • Easy Clean No-Rinse Cleanser

Easy Clean is an oxygen-based cleanser designed to safely clean the brewing equipment included in the kit. To create the cleaning solution, mix one tablespoon per gallon of warm water.

  • Carboy Brush

Yeast and krausen residue tend to accumulate on the inside shoulders of carboys. Measuring a full 30” in length, the 90 degree-curved head of the Carboy Brush allows for complete and effective cleaning of the entire carboy. The brush is constructed of braided wire and nylon bristles.

  • Plastic Paddle 24-Inch

For stirring wort, a molded plastic paddle is included in the kit. The evenly spaced holes in the paddle head create the proper turbulence for dissolving and mixing extract into the wort.  Measuring a full 24”, the paddle is durable, resistant to staining and withstands boiling temperatures, enduring years of use and proving effective in more advanced home brewing applications.

  • Beer Bottle Brush

For cleaning the inside of beer bottles, the 12-inch long brush easily removes debris from the inner walls and bottom of bottles. The brush is constructed of nylon bristles attached to a braided handle.

  • Triple Scale Hydrometer

Hydrometer readings are critical for monitoring beer during the various stages of brewing and fermentation processes. Incorporating a color-coded scale, the hydrometer is a glass laboratory instrument for measuring specific gravity, prior to and following fermentation.

  • Dual Scale Liquid Crystal Thermometer

The Liquid Crystal Thermometer is a thin, black strip thermometer featuring both Celsius and Fahrenheit temperature scales. To attach the thermometer to the outside of a primary or secondary fermenter, remove the adhesive backing and place the Dual Scale Thermometer at approximately the mid point of the bucket or glass vessel.

  • Double Lever Capper

The twin-handled capper quickly attaches bottle caps onto standard crimp style bottles. To operate, simply place a cap onto the opening of the beer bottle. Place the capper bell over the cap, allowing the magnet to secure the cap in place. While applying equal pressure to each handle, push the levers downward, crimping the cap to the bottle.

  • "Home Beermaking" (Moore)

For beginning brewers, Home Beermaking provides basic directions and tips for successfully producing the first batches of beer in a newly established home brewery.

IMPORTANT: The above Equipment Kit does not include a Sanitizing agent. To create fresh and clean tasting beer at home, Brew and Grow recommends purchasing either IO Star or Star San to prevent off flavors from occurring in finished beer.
