Prior to clarification and stabilization processes, excess CO2 gas needs to be purged from wine in the secondary fermentor. To degas the wine, vigorous stirring is required to remove the CO2 while not introducing oxygen into fermented wine.
Our Whip Wine Degasser and a standard 3/8” variable speed drill can save a lot of effort. Simply attach the wine degasser to the drill, tighten the chuck, insert the whip into the secondary fermentor containing the wine and turn on the drill. Within minutes the remaining CO2 will have been efficiently removed from the wine.
The attached rubber stopper fits into the openings of standard carboys and greatly reduces the amount of oxygen introduced into wine from stirring.
