Encarsia Formosa is a tiny wasp that attacks only whiteflies. Adult female Encarsia kill whitefly scales in two ways: by puncturing and feeding on scales, or laying their eggs in scales, turning them black as the young wasp larva matures. A new adult wasp emerges about 25 days after the egg is laid. The parasites are shipped inside the blackened whitefly scales which are attached to cards. At the first sign of whiteflies, reduce their population with insecticidal soap. Order Encarsia Formosa at 1 to 2 week intervals for 8 to 9 weeks or until 80% of the whitefly scales are blackened.
