An excellent, newer variety, Glacier imparts balanced bittering properties combined with a good aroma profile in the finished beer. For Pale Ale’s, ESB, Bitter, English Style Pale Ale, Porter and Stout, Glacier is an excellent dual purpose variety, finding utilization as a bittering and aroma hop.
Released in 2000, Glacier has Low cohumulone levels, providing smooth bitterness.

Possible Substitutions: Willamette, Fuggle, Tettnanger, Styrian Goldings
Imparts a pleasing apricot flavor in Bitters and Pale Ale’s.
In Amber ales, Glacier hops provide an earthy quality to complement Amarillo and Simcoe hops, especially as an aroma addition in tandem with Simcoe hops with about 10 minutes remaining in the boil.
For Irish red ale, the variety creates an earthy quality, counterpointing the sweetness in the style resulting from caramel malts in the recipe.
