A signature Gilbertson and page product, torrified wheat is used widely across across North America. A whole kernel version of wheat flakes, Torrified Malt requires milling for best performance.


OIO Gilbertson & Page - A whole kernel verstion of our popular wheat flakes and does require milling. Infrared roasting gives these flakes their unique toasted flavor. Heat treated to break the cellular structure, allowing more rapid hydration and malt enzymes to more completely attack the starches and protein. Use up to 40% of the total grist bill. Typical Color 1L.

Application Tip:

For adding a bit more body to Wheat styles of all types, Torrified Wheat proves a useful alternative to unmalted wheat in Wit beers, specifying up to 30% of the grist. The puffed wheat provides body and head retention and proves an excellent adjunct in Partial Mash recipes.
