In beers such as pale ales, Vienna Octoberfest, Red, Stout, Brown, Porters…etc. Light Dried Extract provides fermentable and unfermentable sugars.
Kicker amount of dry extract will typically add .009 points of gravity in most 5 – gallon recipes. Brew and Grow recommends maintaining a small stock of Light Dried malt extract for quick adjustments of deficient gravity in all-grain recipes.
