Sterling features excellent flavor and aroma characteristics with herbal, earthy notes, spiciness with a hint of floral & citrus including lemon and pineapple. For pilsners, lagers, American and Belgian-style ales, Sterling is often considered a more than adequate substitution for Czech Saaz, creating similar noble characteristics in the finished beer.

Finding favor as a replacement for Saaz, Sterling provides similar spice, floral and citrus qualities as Saaz and as a bittering hop supplies greater bittering potential due to higher Alpha Acid content, especially in American craft lagers.
For Belgian Tripels, Sterling provides clean, noble type bittering qualities.
