Requiring judicious application in the brew house, Nelson Sauvin is a truly unique dual-purpose variety often utilized for the production of big punchy ales and subtly bitter lagers. While the fruitiness may overpower the un-initiated, the varietal provides bold hop character, applicable to a variety of beer styles such as pale ale IPA, blonde ale and pilsners and seasonal and specialty craft beers. Nelson Sauvin is described as imparting gooseberry and Sauvignon Blanc flavors and aromas.
