Mainly developed for bittering additions, the varietal provides a clean bitterness in the finished beer, especially in beers the hue of an ESB or darker. The bitterness is reminiscent in neutrality to German Northern Brewer, a hop with perhaps, the cleanest bittering quality of most commercially available hops.
In malt accented beers such as porter, oatmeal stout, mild or brown ale, partner Brewers Gold with an addition of Fuggles: Brewers Gold at 60 minutes and Fuggle at flame out.
