By combining Munich, Vienna and caramel malts, the Brewers Best Vienna Lager delivers rich malt aroma with a moderate hopping rate while the beer finishes clean and dry with nary a fruity ester.
Included in the kit is a lager yeast for fermenting at colder temperatures (46 - 58F). The versatile strain also performs well while fermenting at ale temperatures (62 - 75F).
Contents of the kit include ingredients, bottle caps, priming sugar, and brewing procedures.
Fermentables: 3.3 pounds of Munich Liquid Malt Extract (LME);1 pound of Amber LME; and 1 pound of Corn Sugar.
Specialty grains: 1 pound of Vienna and 8 ounces of Caramel 80L.
Hops: 1 ounce of Brewers Gold hops and 1/2 ounce of UK Fuggle (hops may vary due to availability).

To upgrade the yeast to a liquid culture, purchase the Wyeast 2633 Octoberfest Lager yeast separately. Providing a rich malty profile, the strain ferments dry while leaving plenty of malt character and mouthfeel. The yeast will require a cold location between 46 and 58 F to produce the proper lager characteristics. (Additional yeast sold separately.)
