Amber in hue and featuring a pleasant blend of Munich and crystal malts, the German Oktoberfest recipe kit produces a medium-bodied, malty beer. With a caramalt aroma and silky mouthfeel, the Brewers Best version of the classic style from Bavaria finishes with a marked hop flavor.
Included in the kit is a lager yeast for fermenting at colder temperatures (46 - 58F). The versatile strain also performs well while fermenting at ale temperatures (62 - 75F).
Contents of the kit include: ingredients, bottle caps, priming sugar, and brewing procedures.

Specialty grains: 8 ounces of Caramel 60L and 4 ounces of Caramel 20L.

To upgrade the yeast to a liquid culture, purchase the Wyeast 2633 Octoberfest Lager yeast separately. Providing a rich malty profile, the strain ferments dry while leaving plenty of malt character and mouthfeel. The yeast will require a cold location between 46 and 58 F to produce the proper lager characteristics. (Additional yeast sold separately.)
