Brewers Best medium-bodied English Brown Ale offers the malty character and nutty aroma of the classic style from the Northeast region of England. Crystal malts and a smidgen of chocolate malt create the deep brown color and strong malt backbone for balancing the subdued hop flavor in the finished beer.
Contents of the kit include: ingredients, bottle caps, priming sugar, and brewing procedures.
Fermentables: 3.3 pounds of Amber Liquid Malt Extract (LME) and 2 pounds of Amber Dried Malt Extract (DME).
Specialty grains: 8 ounces of Caramel 60L, 4 ounces of Chocolate, 6 ounces of Carapils®.
Hops: 1 ounce of Brewer's Gold hops, 1 ounce and 1/2 ounce packs of UK Golding (hops may vary due to availability).
Yeast: 1 sachet.

To upgrade the yeast to a liquid culture, purchase the Wyeast 1335 British Ale II yeast separately. Providing a clean flavor profile with a hint of spice, the strain ferments fairly dry and crisp and allows the character malts to dominate. Highly flocculent, the yeast easily collects at the bottom of the fermentor following fermentation, leaving the beer crystal clear. (Additional yeast sold separately.)
