Proven as an effective substitute for caustic soda cleaners, P.B.W. functions as a buffered alkaline detergent for cleaning brewing equipment.
For cleaning mash tuns, boiling vessels, chillers, tools and tubing, PBW will loosen and eliminate beer stone and grain debris produced during wort production, leaving surfaces clean with minimal scrubbing. Simply soak for 15 – 30 minutes, scrub the surface with a Scotch Brite Scrub Sponge and/or cleaning brushes and rinse with hot water.
With brief contact time, PBW will efficiently oxidize and remove krausen and yeast debris from the surface of fermenters, tubing and the various tools utilized in the fermenting process.
In Keggerator systems, PBW can be utilized as a line cleaner for eliminating debris and beer stone. Fill a Soda keg with PBW solution, connect to the draft system and by utilizing CO2 pressure, force the PBW through each beer line. Allow the solution to soak inside the beverage lines for 10-15 minutes and rinse by running hot water through the just cleaned lines. To complete the process, sanitize the lines with Star San solution.
Created with a unique formulation of buffers and mild alkalis, P.B.W. is the only patented non-caustic cleaner designed to be safe on skin as well as soft metals such as stainless steel, aluminum, glass, copper, brass, ceramics and on plastics.
PBW uses active oxygen to penetrate carbon or protein soils and is not affected by hard water. The oxygen based cleaner also assists in the reduction of B.O.D. and C.O.D. in wastewater, providing an added environmental benefit. P.B.W. has been formulated as a C.I.P. cleaner and is quite effective in removing protein soils found on brew kettles, fermenters, conditioning tanks, filters and all packaging areas.
To create a PBW solution, add 2 oz per 5 gallons warm water, soak for 15-30 minutes, depending on soil levels, and rinse equipment and tools with hot tap water.
PBW is biodegradable, environmentally friendly and safe to handle.
