During wort production, Polysulfone Quick Disconnects (QD) allow transfer tubing to be switched swiftly from one connection to the next, allowing hot liquids to be conveyed from brewing vessel to brewing vessel and brewing vessel to a plate chiller with minimal effort.
The ½” Barb x Male w/Shutoff easily plugs into a female Polysulfone QD threaded into wort outlets such as ½” FPT on Ball Valves or Full Couplers attached to the wort outlets or inlets of plate chillers.
Shutoff feature prevents further flow of liquids once the QD's have been disconnected.
To connect vessels and/or a plate chiller together with Silicone Heat tubing, the ½” Barb x Male w/Shutoff quickly mates with female Polysulfone QD’s with barbs. Simply clamp both ends of the Silicon heat tubing to the barbs of the ½” Barb x Male w/shutoff QD’s. Finally, plug the male ends into the female QD’s threaded into the vessels or wort chillers.
Polysulfone connectors remain cool to the touch during boiling operations and are rated from -40F – 280F (-40C – 138F). Valve springs are forged from 316 Stainless Steel and the internal mount gaskets are EPDM. Polysulfone connectors withstand pressure to 125 PSI, 8.6 Bar.
